Rangers legend Allie McCoist has back Steven Gerrard to return to the Ibrox managerial role. And say he would not be surprised if it were to happen.

The former Liverpool midfielder only part ways with เว็บพนันออนไลน์ UFABET สมัครง่าย โปรโมชั่นมากมาย Saudi Arabian side Al Ettifaq last month after just 18 months in charge. Although he had agreed a deal until 2027, but a poor run of results forced him to part ways. And McColls is keen to see Gerrard return to manage Rangers.

“I wouldn’t be surprise if Steven Gerrard returns to Ibrox,” McCoist told talkSPORT. “The fans obviously have a lot of respect for him. Because of the league titles he’s won. And his next job will be a huge success for him.”

“Everything didn’t go to plan after he left Rangers. It’s similar to Frank Lampard going to Coventry, the next club is very important to him as well, so we’ll see what Steven chooses to do with his career.”

“However, I think most Rangers fans now recognise that Philippe Clement has the backing of the board and, to be fair to him, the team’s performances have been improving. They did really well to finish in the top eight of the Europa League. Especially given the strength of the opposition they faced.”

For Gerrard, he managed Rangers from 2018-2021, leading the team to win the Premier League title in the 2020/21 season before leaving the team to manage Aston Villa and most recently Al Ettifaq.
