I'd like to purchase LG air conditioner but I have some questions ...

Hello, I'd like to purchase LG air conditioner but I have some questions connected with the choice between two models: SO7LHP or SO9LHP, in different sales outlets are advised different models. The room characteristics are the following: 21,2m?, ceiling height is 2,6m, there can be 1-3 people in the room at the same time; equipment- PDP 42? and theatre "in one box", there is also a computer in the room. I incline more to buy SO9LHP, but I worry whether there may be some problems because it is meant for huge spaces, there may be cold etc.? Thanks for your answer beforehand.

Answer: Every air conditioner has a thermostat which defines its mode of operation. The compressor goes off as it reaches the temperature set by thermostat, and when the temperature in the room rises at 1 degree the compressor goes on again. The number of such cycles should not exceed 4-5 in an hour. That is the optimum mode of operation of the system for which it is meant. If the productivity of the air conditioner is not enough, it may operate continuously, what will adversely affect the lifetime. And if the productivity is higher than is required for a certain room, the compressor will go off too often, and that also will adversely affect the lifetime of the air conditioner. The minimum recommended period of compressor operation is about 5min. Count all the heat supplies in your room (from equipment and people) and take into consideration the average productivity required for your space: it is about 1 kW of cold for 10m?.

#1 Donald 2009-05-25 01:58 i bought 7 units for the whole house, 3×1hp, 3×1.5hp & 1×2hp. Almost all start to have problems fater a few months. Leakage is definitely the big problem, marks curtains, making slipery floors, making it a hazard, several repairs from aircon seller fail to correct problem. LG technician came and made it worse. I am waiting for them to come, again… ALL IN LESS THAN ONE YEAR!! If they can't repair it, i will throw them out of my house and not use one single LG product in my life!! Quote
