Multi Split Air Conditioners
If you are looking for an efficient way to cool multiple rooms in your house, but don't want to invest in a central air conditioning system, then split air conditioner may be a perfect solution. More energy-efficient, than central air systems, and more effective, than window or portable units.
Multi-split air conditioning system is a good option, if you need to cool more, than one area and if you want to have full control over the temperature in each room separately. Multi-split units can definitely suit big houses, large premises, companies, hospitals, schools or any other commercial buildings. It is also a great alternative to ducted air conditioning systems, if you don't have much roof or under roof space available. This appliance is considered to be the advanced version of original split air conditioner.
Multi split air conditioner can have several indoor units, which are connected to one outdoor unit. Interior units can be wall mounted, floor standing, ceiling cassettes and bulkhead units and they are connected by refrigerant pipes and cables to one outdoor unit. There are different types of multi-split air conditioners. Super multi split system can have up to four indoor heads connected to one outdoor unit. Super multi plus system can have up to nine indoor heads connected to one outdoor unit. The capacity of the outdoor unit determines how many indoor units can be run at full capacity simultaneously.

The operation of a multi split air conditioner is similar to a central air system's functioning, external air condenser cools air outside and supplies it indoors. Traditionally the condenser provides air to one central air handler for distribution throughout the entire house, a split system distibutes air to several smaller air handler units, which are installed in the rooms of the house. Each handler unit is equipped with its own thermostat, which controls the room's temperature. Due to the fact that each split unit is supplied with a thermostat and the temperature in each room can be set separately, multi split air conditioning systems are considered to be very energy-efficient. Central air systems operate in a different way and they cool the entire house in general and the temperature is even in all the rooms. This is a great disadvantage for those people, who don't use all the rooms in their houses, because, in the case with multi split systems, they can just turn the units off in these rooms and so not overpay for idle premises.
