Ductless Air Conditioners
While choosing a ductless air conditioner for your home, office or any other building, there are many things which have to be taken care of and you will have to make a certain research of cost vs. quality or capacity. Ductless appliances come in wide varieties, suiting different needs and having different features. Deciding on an air conditioner that will match your budget and expectations, along with the required features, is a very important task. There are several factors, which should be considered, before the actual purchase. You should take into account the climate of your city, the size of the room, the floor of the residence and the facilities, which you want the appliance to provide you with.
Ductless air conditioning and heating units are innovative ways to heat and cool an area in the house, without the need for bulky and difficult duct work installation. Ductless appliances are also called mini-split systems. These units are air conditioning systems, which provide cool air to one or more rooms. They incorporate the use of a condenser unit, placed outside the home, with refrigerant and electrical lines that go through the exterior wall to connect to one or more compact, wall-mounted cooling units (zones) inside the house.
Unlike portable or window air conditioners, ductless mini-split systems require permanent fixture, professional installation and larger investment. They are however, cheaper to install and less time-taking, than central air conditioning systems, which use home duct system and are much more expensive to mount. Ductless mini-split air conditioners can actually be more efficient, because they cool only the rooms where you fix them, according to your needs. In this way they are energy-efficient, because there is no energy wasted, in comparison with central system that cools the whole house, including unused areas. Ductless mini-split air conditioning systems usually have one, two or more zones and in some cases, you can start with small one or two room units and then grow your cooling network.
A big benefit of a ductless system versus a ducted system is that you can get much more control over heating and cooling processes in the rooms. In a central system, heated or cooled air moves from a central module throughout the home and through ducts. Slight variation in temperature can be achieved by closing off ducts. Otherwise the device is designed to move the same amount of heated or cooled air throughout the system. However with ductless mini split unit, it is possible to achieve very specific results for each room, if an indoor unit is installed. With ductless appliances much better efficiency can be achieved, since each room can be optimized for certain temperature. The units can also be programmed to turn off and on, in accordance with your specifications and needs.
For instance, if a room is not used very often, there can be excellent energy savings, because ductless unit can be turned off in this particular area. The installation is simplier, if to compare with ducted central systems, because this type of appliances are designed to be installed in residential houses.
Ductless air conditioners offer great energy savings, ability to control the heating and air conditioning in the house, plus easy installation. In addition these units are reliable, efficient and durable.
